These terms apply to your use of pdfsummarizer.net and its summarizers (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
The Service
PDF Summarizer lets you upload a document, slide deck, spreadsheet, e-book or image and get an AI-generated summary, key points, and answers to follow-up questions. It is free to use and doesn't require an account. Files can be up to 50 MB. We may change, limit or discontinue features at any time, including usage limits that keep the Service available for everyone.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
Your files
You keep all rights to the files you upload and to the summaries generated from them. You give us a limited permission to store, process and transmit your files, only as needed to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Uploaded files and their summaries are deleted within 30 days.
You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload each file and that doing so doesn't break any law, contract or confidentiality obligation.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or contains malware;
- use the Service to harass, defraud or harm anyone;
- scrape, overload or automate access to the Service, or get around its limits;
- try to access other users' files or the systems behind the Service;
- resell the Service or present it as your own.
We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules.
AI summaries can be wrong
Summaries and answers are generated by an AI model. They can leave out important details, misread tables or scanned pages, or state things the document doesn't say. Check anything that matters against the original document. Our guide on how to summarize a PDF and check the summary shows how to do that in a few minutes.
The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Don't rely on a summary alone for decisions in those areas.
Our content
The website, its design, text, logo and software belong to us or our licensors. You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts from our articles with attribution.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers, such as cloud hosting and AI model providers, and links to other websites. We aren't responsible for third-party websites or their content.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that summaries will be accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the Service after an update, the new terms apply.
